Block Heater install

I found a scanned copy of my instructions of how to install a freeze plug block heater. It took me about a half an hour a few years back. If anyone living in a cooold climate wondered what it entails I hope the instructions help you..

I have a question regarding how to remove a freeze plug on my Kubota 3600. Do I just pound it out with a cold chisel? I see no way to hold or turn it. Thnx, Peter

Hello not sure if this helps but I have installed many block heaters normally I used a big screw driver and knock the plug in this bends it the grab it with plyers and wiggle it out .careful not nick the edge where the o ring on the block heater rests then stick in the block heater turning so the heating elemt clears the cyl castings depends on the engine where the heating element is up or down on some machine V8's would even put one on each side .bit of lub on the o ring and of all of them only 1 leaked through the centre screw . and of course have to install it in the frost plug the man . refers

Like Lindsay said. I used a chisel and drove one edge in carefully until I could grab it with vise grips. I then wiggled it out. I think the freeze plug block heater is the best method of heating your coolant besides keeping it in a heated garage. Total install should take less than 30 munutes if you never did one before...
