Curious if anyone has their own blog? I thought it would be fun to create one with my daily adventures, etc.

I'd be interested in learning how you set one up, get an audience, etc. thanks !

I had one titled Brandi, Booger and the Big RED Beast. MahindraUSA (MUSA) advertising guys sit it up for me and linked it to MUSA's website. Last blog was in 2009 right after Dad died. I lost interest in it then.
hugs, Brandi

I have one for my spoon carving site, I use a premade wordpress theme from themify. I wanted something that I could use as a store front, and blog. Tell you the truth its as much work as carving spoons, which means I do not update it nearly as much as I need to. The main problem is not having a smart phone to upload pictures on the "fly". If I am working on something and do not have my camera then I am out of luck. If you use wordpress there are so many add on's that you can get. A friend of mine has a quiltmaking blog, she has been able to grow that into a business. She, because of the blog, and because of her amazing work, has been featured in magazines, gets free samples of fabric etc. Find a topic and keep chugging away and it may become popular.

Very interesting! Do you pay for the blog service? Or have ads? It sounds like some work but fun too.

That's amazing about your friend with the quilt blog!

My problem is topic... I have and do a wide vareity of things... Basically similar to all the forums on tractorbynet! Maybe that's a good thing!

Thanks for all the info everyone!

I bought my domain name, and then shopped around for the best hosting site. I use host gator, I bought the name from godaddy, and then the page template I bought from Themify - Drag & Drop WordPress Themes I use the Pinshop theme.
As far as plug ins I use ImagePro, PinIt (pintrest), Regenerate Thumbnails, WooCommerce as my store software, WordPress SEO (for search engine opt).
Blog posts are as easy as writing a post to any website. What/where it gets tricky is keywords. Google has software that lets you see what words were searched for, how many times etc, so that you can put them into you post to connect people to your website. My goal for the next month is go get back to posting on the blog to attract people to the main site. stormspoons.com Creating Beauty After the Storm is my store site, but Blog - stormspoons.com Creating Beauty After the Storm is my blog. Trust me when I say i am all self taught on this, and there are so many tutorials and step by step directions out there to help anyone at any level of technology. I laugh when I have to explain how much technology I use to sell hand carved wooden spoons :)

Wow thanks for sharing all the info! Seems fairly complicated to a newbie! Can you have sponsor or adds on your website like a tool company or supply house?

I'll have to check out your site! Sounds very interesting!

Thanks again!

Can you have sponsor or adds on your website like a tool company or supply house? that is a bit more then I know. The companies will walk you though step by step. It sounds difficult but you can do it :)

So that WAS you! I read your blog when I was tractor shopping in 2007/2008. Ended up with a JD because my experience with the Mahindra dealer was a letdown.

Yes, I did get a stipend for writing for them. It payed 2/3rds the tractor payment for the 2 years I was writing. Dad was my mentor and left unexpectantly. I still get misty eyed thinking of him and Mom.
