This is one of those "different strokes for different folks" questions....only you will know. But that's what I do with my B series. Though I don't exactly live in heavy snow country, I get drifts that are a bit deeper than I thought a blower would handle. I also get freezing rain on top of snow occasionally, and that mess is not very workable with a blower either. So to keep the loader available, I bought the rear mounted blower, a combination that has worked very well for me so far.

Many enjoy using the loader for most small snowfalls and to clean up after the loader has been used to bunch the snow. When done bunching they then will blow the piles away. For larger snowfalls the blower does the whole chore of snow removal!

This serves two purposes, no banks, no blow in!

I would use a loader for drifts and deep snow and a rear blade for lighter snow.:2cents:

i got a Bx2660 with the rear pto snowblower and love it here in pa. A little pain looking backwards but got used to it very quickley. I had chains on at first but later took them off to see what happens and found no differance but than we didn't have a foot or more this year! no broblem with the 2-8 in snows. good luck!

My advice is.......... remove the loader come winter and put on a front blower. If new is too spendy, I do see them lightly used on Craigslist.

I used to clear snow with the FEL and a rear blade. Took hours to clear a tenth of a mile if the drifts were bad, which they usually are.

This past winter I bought a 51" 3ph blower. I can now clear the drive in 15 minutes, have no banks on the edge of the drive, and chew through the deepest of drifts with no problems. As for looking over my shoulder, I'd have to do the same if I was using the rear blade or FEL as the blade is behind me, and I'm going in reverse just as much as going forward while doing loader work. I'd rather have to crane around for 15 minutes than switch back and forth from forward to reverse for three hours.

I haven't ever used a front mounted blower. I imagine they are pretty darn cool, but for the money spent I'm in love with my rear mounted unit.

Blower is the way to go. I have a 6 foot rear mount blower and would not be without.

I wanted to keep the FEL on so decided on a rear pull behind blower rather then the front blower and found it to be great.
