Blowout on HST filter

Now, if I understand your clutch free tractor, it is spinning the HST pre-charge pump when starting the engine? That wouldn't go over real well here at -30F. Stuff gets mighty thick and chewy at those temps. Probably not a concern at all down in the warmth.

Does your Kubota not spin its main hydraulic pump and power steering pump? I don't see how the HST charge pump is all that much more with the transmission in neutral. The no-clutch system really does work nicely.

The Kubota B30 hydro does not have a clutch in the bellhousing. It has a drive plate that is directly splined to the input shaft. The steering pump is the charge supply and it is driven off the timing cover area.

For all other models have a dry clutch (Grand L00/10/30/40) in the bellhousing, the input shaft will stop turning with clutch is depressed and the charge pump does not run.

This means you can disconnect the hydro for increased cranking speed on all but the B30 - better keep them warm or inside!

Let's put it this way. When I go to stop the tractor after use in the winter, I put the rpm's with a hot engine at 1500. When I start it, clutch down, the rpms will be about 1300 at -20F. That's due to the PS pump and the 3pt pump running with no load. When I let the clutch up, it will dog it down to about 1000 rpm. The Pre-charge pump runs all the time the clutch is up. Least as far as I understand it! Maybe the NH does not?

NH ic currently changing the regular filter ONCE AGAIN; we have not recieved the new number to stock yet. Time will tell if this new filter can be used in colder climates.

Is this the SBA340501030? I saw this listed on Messicks as a replacement to the 890 and 990 filter.
