J. Peterson:
I have a blue Montana 4940C with a green curved boom front end loader. If you search my posts you'll see my comments and there is also a picture of it.
I bought it "New" even though it was four years old. It was aged stock from Montana. They put the new style loader on it as it was set up for 3pt hitch work.
I have 400 hours on mine (it had 30 when I bought it). See the gas tank post that I did a while ago. They replaced it under warranty.
I use my tractor hard. Not abusive but hard. It has broke ground, pushed over trees, carried big trees, dragged others, cut hay, raked hay, baled hay, graded driveways......well you get the picture I'm sure....:confused2:
It has been a great tractor. I really love it. I pulled my neighbours 95 horsepower JD complete with 7 foot shredder out of the ditch a while back....can't beat that performance. The other thing I love is they develop 50 hp without a turbocharger.
I'd highly recommend it.
Although right now I have a problem in that I can't get a new back window for my cab. I lost it a while ago and the local dealer that is left here (he's fifty miles away) keeps telling me that he has no idea when it will come.
Can you pm me with the details of your local Montana, LS dealer so I can see if I can purchase a window from him?
Good luck with your purchase. By the way, put synthetic in the engine, it runs noticeably cooler with synthetic.
Glenn.
