BMHT Cap Screws

My Deere 3320 has many 12mm cap screws marked "BM/HT" on the head.Does anyone know the grade cap screw they are for torquing?

Hey Bob,
I'm thinking it's a metric grade 8 that is hardened and tempered.
The manual should have the torque specs for the bolts on your tractor.

I am not familiar with that marking. What location on the tractor are the bolts? If you give a specific location, I can look up what bolt is specified. Are they 12mm diameter bolts or 12mm wrench size?

They are 12 mm dia. cap screws that are used on the front of the tractor. Most of them go from the frame to the castings. The manual has no info for that head designation.

I have a JD 3520 and just noticed one of these BM/HT bolts broken off and 3 missing. 6 others were finger tight. The threads are flattened on several. It appears that the entire front end rests on these brackets. How do you support the front end (with the front loader, a jack or a hoist?) to shift the bracket and drill out the broken bolt? Does any body really know what the bolts are? I know they have a slight shoulder and are 12 mm 1.75 pitch with 18 mm heads less than 35 mm long.

these bolts are a grade 8, material is 10b21 (should be carbon steel). I believe that since they are shouldered they are considered a stud and so are marked diferently but are grade 8.
