bmx jumps

Over the past few days I built my son a bmx dirt tabletop, he's 10. I dug a hole one the corner of my property with the feel and used 10-15 buckets on dirt, its roughly 3 feet tall 6 feet wide and about 12 feet long. We finished shaping the jump earlier today. He was having a blast and eventualy talked me into trying it. So I jumped it and my confidence kept growing to the point that I wrecked the bike going over handle bars. I have rode bmx all my life, I'm 28 now, still ride with my son, I'm not as good as I used to be. I must say the tractor made the difference, not to fond of shovels. Just thought I'd share my little project.

I used to jump my bike over things all the time. I even remember my brother and I taking turns jumping over each other with wooden ramps set up on cinder blocks.

I'd lay down in front of the ramp and he'd jump over me and then he'd lay down in front of the ramp and I'd jump over him. :laughing:

Oh those were fun times.

I wrecked the bike going over handle bars.

xd. I've flew over the handlebars many times as a kid. After the second time flying over the handlebars my mom bought me a helmet and kneepads but I would take them off as soon as I was out of her sight. lol

I've always hated wearing those helmets and kneepads.

I've had some close calls of nearly hitting my head on the pavement. But luckily I was never seriously injured just some scrapes and bruises.

I'm 25 now.

How about a picture of this jump???

I used the back blade and loader up on the side of the hill behind the house and built a small mountain bike/motor cross track for my sons. They don't ride their motorcycles at all up there....but their dad sure does!!!!
