I was going to create a thread to see if others could figure out what my problem was (I've since figured it out).
I'll talk about it here instead in the small chance it might help you.
You surlely have a diesel and not gas?? Presuming so, you might want to check your water seperator.
My situation: I have an industrial backhoe. I've been using it recently however, it was operating a bit weird. It was seeming to me that I didn't have the RPM's that I thought it should.
As I continued to use it, the problem became more clear. From a cold start, I'd have normal RPM's, but as I pulled away my available RPM's would simply die and all I had was idle.
I could have the accelerator FLOORED and it would still do nothing more than idle.
If I turned machine off, waited a moment... (I also found that if I pumped on the transfer pump manually) I would then get full RPM's back for a moment BUT, that would soon go away and I'd be stuck back at idle.
I began to suspect a clogged filter so I took my filter/water seperator off and don't you know, the moment I looseened the bowl, out came the water.
I now realize that I was reaching the limits of water and it was starving the machine for fuel even though I had a full tank.
Dumped water, replaced filter, fired up and runs like a champ now.
Just a thought.
