bobcat 610
I have a Bobcat 610 that runs fine when the engine is cold or it's cold outside. But when it's warm out and the engine gets warm it stalls. I've changed the points, condenser, cap, rotor, coil and carb in the last year. If I cool the carb with water it's OK until it warms up again. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it would help to cut the casting between the exhaust and intake manifold to stop the heat transfer.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is the motor a Wisconsin VH4D?

I have the same motor in my case skidsteer and also had a similar problem. It wound up being the coil. In your OP you said you changed the coil. Did you replace it with a new one? Also I'm not sure what you mean by cooling the carb with water ? It might be worth your time to do a compression test when it gets hot as well. Good luck. Let us know what you find

I did change the coil with a new one. I just dump some water on the top of the carb to cool it off. I'm afraid to check the compresion, I'm pretty sure it's not very good. I don't use the machine very much but it's irritating to have to let it sit and cool.

Ya I hear you on the compression test. I hate to tell you, but with the symptoms your discribing, it sounds like you might be ready for an overhaul. The good news is that parts are cheap and it's a fairly simple motor to rebuild. The only thing I don't understand is that it runs better after cooling the carb. I've never heard of cooling a carburator before. I can't imagine that hot cylinders and heads like water being splashed on them. A compression test will tell you a lot. You can get a decent compression tester at an auto parts store for about 30 bucks. I could be wrong. Maybe someone else could chime in and give there opinion as well?

Hello all,
New here but I had the same problem with my 610, I did everything you did but the compression test. Still had the same problem. I cracked the gas line when warm and didn't have gas to the carb! I replaced the fuel pump and all was good after that.
Hope this helps.

I'm on my second 610. My first one would die out when it got hot and it had a rebuilt Wisconsin VH4D engine. It would vapor lock. I cured it by adjusting the float, there is a page in the manual about it. Hope this helps.
