I thought this information was on here somewhere but a search showed nothing. Does anyone know where to get an adapter to connect a Bobcat branded mulcher electrical plug to an ASV? I have a friend who is trying to do just that. It is the one with hydraulic block that everything goes thru. I had a good look at it. Now I know how they slow the rotor's, neat setup.

I don't know if there is one. I do know that when we bought the tree shear fecon told us we would have to buy a $1000 bobcat valve in order for the bobcat 7 pin to operate it. I would suggest he get rid of the valve box. That's what we are considering after replacing a few of those electrical lines.

Well then my friend, you will be the first I call when I figure this out. The "brake" is electric over hyd. I was thinking about doing away with the valve also but was trying to use what was there. I only have one real "problem" with the block and I have the hyd schematic so I will sit down with my engineer's later today and figure it out. I also have the electrical schematic so I might can figure out that one too.;)

I'm interested in this thread myself. I have a Bobcat but use a CAT mulcher. Had to install secondary auxiliary hydraulics to operate the mulcher's door. I am not thinking about using a Bobcat mulcher but Bobcat tells me it won't work without buying their forestry kit which I do not want or need (already have lexan door and Bobcat's debris kit installed.

Let us know if you get it working or if there is some electrical connection that keeps the rotor from spinning. I guess I could run separate hydraulic lines to the door and the mulcher.. but rather just use the electric over hydraulic setup

You can make it work without the bobcat lexan door. There is a contact that closes when the door is closed. You would just need to splice these two wires together. But... I would just eliminate the Bobcat control valve unless you need (want) the hydraulic gate on the head.

The Brake is only Hydraulic if You still want the door use the ASV Low flow hydraulics. If you have problems feel free to give my service manager Ty a call and he'll help you out.

I have sorted it out, not the wiring adapter route I wanted. May still can work on that one but I was able to identify all the lines in the head and what needs to be done. Fish and Yellow PM me and I can tell you. You both are were closer than you think, there was just one line that had me stumped. I have to admit the brake is very clever.

I have done this before with a Bobcat brand stump grinder and a PT100 forestry. There is a kit to buy from Bobcat because the solenoids on the attachment are not 12v. One harness goes on the machine and comes with a control box and then one harness for each attachment. I have part #s if you need them.

They make adapters for the Cat, but not the ASV. I bought a setup a while back for a Bobcat stump grinder to run on an RC100. Search under my threads and you'll find it. I have the parts still if anyone is interested in them.
