Wow what a great new toy! My wife and I pulled home our brand new 440 last night behind our archaic 85 F250. The tractor looked like it could smash the truck, we actually ended up being 2 Ft to long for the trailer. The dealer had only provided us with the base tractor specs/ dimensions. So when the actual unit showed up with the 9TL FEL on front it was way to long. We drove home with the loader in the air sticking out over the front of the trailer and swinging over the bed of the truck!
Anyway I logged on here today because my plan was to run this tractor with the Bearcat 8" PTO chipper. I did not even know about the operator presence function until I picked it up. Of course it meets our needs in every other way (after hours of research)- so we didn't want to cancel and go find another tractor. Our family runs 120 acres mostly covered in trees. The PTO chipper along with the snow plow and box scraper will be putting the most hrs on this new ride. I do not want to cut the wires and void the warranty. Does anyone out there know how to keep this tractor running short of leaving a sand bag on the seat for the operator presence switch, when dismounted? I also wanted to run a hydraulic jack hammer off of the rear hydraulics, but cannot do that without figuring out how to bypass the operator presence switch. -Hydraulicaly powered log splitters (3pt) won't work because of the operator presence switch as well, unless you can talk your wife into sitting on the seat and reading a book while you throw logs into the splitter all afternoon
