I'm ready to buy a 40HP SCUT. I need it for tree farm/firewood work, pond maintenance, driveway plowing and grading, flail mower, and garden tilling on 12 acres. I need high maneuverability within a crowded environment, which is why I don't want a larger frame size. I already have an old JD1650 (62HP Yanmar) which is too big for this property, and parts are getting hard to find. Within my budget and with nearby dealerships, I have narrowed my choice to a New Holland Workmaster 40 ($26,500) or a Bobcat CT2040 ($25,000). Both quotes include a loader and rear hydraulic outlet.
From what I've gathered so far, it seems the Bobcat is a rebadged Kioti, and the Workmaster is made by LS. Can y'all confirm that?
Unfortunately, there is not any inventory anywhere, so I'll have to order one sight unseen. I am 6'3" tall and left-handed. I'm interested to hear opinions from which I might compare the 2 models. Operating quirks, parts cost, reliability, and other things I won't find on the spec sheets.
Thanks in advance!
