I'm ready to buy a 40HP SCUT. I need it for tree farm/firewood work, pond maintenance, driveway plowing and grading, flail mower, and garden tilling on 12 acres. I need high maneuverability within a crowded environment, which is why I don't want a larger frame size. I already have an old JD1650 (62HP Yanmar) which is too big for this property, and parts are getting hard to find. Within my budget and with nearby dealerships, I have narrowed my choice to a New Holland Workmaster 40 ($26,500) or a Bobcat CT2040 ($25,000). Both quotes include a loader and rear hydraulic outlet.

From what I've gathered so far, it seems the Bobcat is a rebadged Kioti, and the Workmaster is made by LS. Can y'all confirm that?

Unfortunately, there is not any inventory anywhere, so I'll have to order one sight unseen. I am 6'3" tall and left-handed. I'm interested to hear opinions from which I might compare the 2 models. Operating quirks, parts cost, reliability, and other things I won't find on the spec sheets.

Thanks in advance!

You are correct about being rebadged tractors. Sounds like actually test driving needs to be high on the priority list.

Is there a Kioti or LS dealer close that might have the equivalent of what you are looking at?

No equivalent dealers nearby, and doubtful they would have stock now, either. There just isn't any new 40 HP SCUT stock anywhere.

I'm going to ask the dealers to connect me with their latest customers and ask the customers if I can check out theirs.

I'm 6'5", size 14 shoe, one of the reasons I chose the Kioti, it was one of the few I could be comfortable on, it has performed very well, had a couple of issues I corrected due to incorrect dealer assembly, did my own fifty, easy to do, Regen has had no issues - so far very pleased - the joy stick is on the right along with with rear hydraulics, I'm sure you've run into that, does not appear that you would move the joy to the left side........

Thanks, BrkMstr; that is very helpful. I'm used to controls on the right.
