Bobcat Front Wheel Assist vs 4x4

Looking into purchasing a Bobcat CT225, w/FEL, turf tires and suspension seat. I received an out the door quote of $10,595 for this setup. I was reviewing the quote and noticed the Bobcat has a "front wheel assist" 4x4 setup instead of a 100% true 4X4. I once owned a John Deere 4310 with a "MFWD" system and that seem to work out fine for my needs. Any thoughts about the "front wheel assist" vs true 4X4?

All 4wd drive CUT's are considered "Front wheel assist" because they are not a true four wheel drive like a articulated farm tractor.

Nothing to worry about just a different terminology than you are used to hearing

Yep just like the duffster said. If I recall the Bobcats are Kioti Frame and I believe the Kioti is just like Kubota and has a differential lock that will lock the rear differential. So at best you will have 3 wheel drive. I am not aware of a CUT that has true all wheel drive.

My understanding is that in a true 4x4 all the wheels are the same size and turn at the same speed. In the front wheel assist, the front wheels are smaller than the rear and geared to actually cover more ground than the rears and tend to pull the tractor along. Which is why it is bad for transmission/drive train parts to run with FWA engaged on the pavement or other hard pack where there is good traction.
