Bobcat - out cruising in the daytime

I've seen this guy near the house recently. He's no more timid than the deer, he just slinks out of sight quickly when I open the door unexpectedly. My three prior sightings and this photo were all in the daytime.

I finally saw him far enough away that I had enough time to reach for the camera. I think all sightings were the same critter but I'm not sure - what I saw behind the barn looked slightly smaller than a coyote but this guy looked a lot larger and heavier than a coyote as I watched him move.

He's out some 150 yards so this isn't the greatest photo. He was already working his way toward cover by the time I got the pictures.

Location: an hour north of San Francisco; 10 miles from the ocean.

yeah, that is a nice one.. We see them here occasionally, but they are pretty wary.. Most of the sightings that I have seen them are around 5:00 in the morning.

I noticed your gamecam thread, and thought about posting my picture there. But then it seemed like a better idea to start a related thread instead.

Your guy looks as big as a mountain lion, with only the short tail to indicate bobcat. My critter has that same short tail.

Looks good and healthy,we have such cats here in NH but to see one in open such as your would be rare sighting.
