Bobcat purchase pricing

Looking for a little help...

I have the option to purchase either one of the following from 2 different dealers. The first is a 2008 Bobcat CT225 with 150 hours for $13,900. The second is a 2011 Bobcat CT230 with 135 hours for $15,900. Now I realize that these are very similar machines and are only asking prices. My question for all of you is, which one would be the better deal? I saw once before on a post here where someone actually knew what factory/dealer cost was on these units. Just looking for a little leverage when negotiating. Thank you

I looked at one of the CT225s last year that was new old stock. The dealer wanted $14,500 and he was firm. My concern was that not every Bobcat dealership will provide warranty work on the tractors since they are discontinued. The closest servicing dealer for me would have been 3 hours away.

There's another member here that goes by MOPappy or something like that and he ended up buying that same tractor I looked at. I think he has been happy with his purchase. The Bobat is essentially the same tractor as the Kioti CK series.

AFAIK any Bobcat dealership with a service dept can service the tractors.

For the $2K difference I'd go with the 2011 CT230 provided the tractors are similarly equipped

BTW when you're buying a tractor is the time to bundle attachments for the best deals. That said Bobcat brand attachments can be a bit of a mixed bag, some are better than known brands some aren't.

When I was considering that tractor, I called my local Bobcat dealer. They were the ones who told me only certain dealers service the tractors. The local dealer was super nice and talked to me about when they used to sell the tractors. He even told me what their dealer cost was on the units to help with my negotiations. Sadly, the seller wouldn't budge or I'd probably be a Bobcat owner now.

Are you willing to share what they told you dealer cost was on say the CT225 and CT230?
