I have a S175 Bobcat-the engine won't turn over. I have checked the starter and battery...both okay. Earlier today, the guages all lit up--slowly, but now...nothing....not even a click. Of course, can't find my manual! Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Seriously, back to the OP post:
Those dim lights on the gauges indicate a battery going bad. The easiest, least intrusive thing to do is jump start from another vehicle (you might have to let the battery charge for a short period of time while those jumper cables are attached so make sure the charging vehicle is at a fast idle). Even if the starter spins faster, it may not be fast enough to start the Bobcat's engine but it'll indicate you're due for a new battery (and eliminate the ignition switch and wiring as a possible cause). But, before buying that battery, make sure your cables and connections (battery and starter) are in good condition.
If the starter still doesn't engage, it's time to troubleshoot the ignition switch and wiring.
