Bobcat Skid Steer S330
Need some help. Have 3 bobcat S330's I'm working on with the army here in Afgahnistan. I've read some similare issues on some different threads here, but gotten no solid answer. I've called and been working with a dealership back in the states and they can only do so much over the phone without the loader in front of them, whcih isn't gonna happen at this time. My lift on the loaders will not work, but the tilt will. On one of them I changed the Hydraulic control valve that had gone bad, and then adjusted the pressure control valve on that and it worked fine, only to come back to me a week later with the problem stated earlier. I ordered in some new Solenoids for the lift and tilt issues... any more knowledge base on this would be helpful. Thank you.

I will try and answer about hyd in general.

I was going to ask if the valves were mechanical, but I see that you ordered in some solenoid valves, and I am assuming they are for the solenoid control valves for the lift and tilt.

Check the solenoid spools for free movement.

With the solenoid mounted, do you have voltage at the solenoid terminals?

Some solenoid valves have a way to activate the valve, by pushing in on a pin at the end of the solenoid.

If you don't have voltage at the solenoid when you should, then you should trouble shoot the wiring from the joystick or whatever you use to control the valves.

You can also jumper voltage to the solenoid to check valve operation.

A hyd gage in the circuit might be helpful.

Do you have the manual for the machine.

Thanks for the reply,

We do have an electronic manual. We are limited on the tools we have to use as far as any gages none. The budget they give us restricts alot of the specialty tools we can get in at the moment. I will trouble shoot the wiring from the joystick as suggested. These bobcats are a new animal to me, can you explain how to "jumper voltage to the solenoid" and I can try that option to. I got into the bobcat this morning and its giving me the lift/tilt lock indicator in the overhead dash keeping me from lifting or tilting anything. Not had that one happen to me yet. I checked the load fo rthe solenoids and did not think to check for voltage coming to it. I will check that as well. Thanks again for the insites and reply.

Remove the wires to the solenoid and from your battery, use two jumper wires and apply the battery voltage to the solenoid and listen for the click.

If the solenoid is good and you have voltage, it will act like an electromagnet. If you lay a screw driver on the solenoid, it will attract.

Did you notice if the solenoid had a manual push pin on the end of the solenoid.

Some machines have interlocks on the safety arms.

You may need someone in the seat with arms down for somethings to work.

Be careful if working by yourself around hyd.

Does your skidsteer have a safety bar that holds the lift arms cyl extended in a locked position.

Sorry took me a while, got caught up in anaother project. Thanks for the info with jumper wires i'll give that a try. I don't believe the skidsteer has a safety bar as you speak of. I'm going to jump back on this today and I'll see if I make progress. I'll update what I find.
