yeah guys is in normal after a while of operation for the front end loader to be covered in black soot? I tool the loader off today and put down the left side loader stand which no longer is white.....
Newer on-road diesels have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to trap the soot emmissions which are considered a carcinogen. Once the DPF starts to reach capacity the engine enters a "regeneration" cycle where it injects fuel into the exhaust to raise exhaust gas temps and burn the soot into smaller ash particles. What's this mean to you?......increased complexity of the engine (higher purchase cost) and decreased fuel economy.
I'm happy these new emmission standards don't apply to our tractors and will gladly wipe a little soot from my loader stand.
That just means yr not using yr loader enough, keepin it movin, lol. Just kidding, I didnt notice mine til I started using my backhoe last year with the tractor being stationary for a bit of time my loader arm got quite black, like said before be glad a lil smoke is good, ill clean mine and not worry.
