Hey Guys, I know it might be in the wrong section but most of you guys are creative. I have a hotwater pressure washer. The coil sprung a leak and I welded it back up again. The problem I have is there is this cardboard like material I need to replace. Its about 3/16 to 1/4 thick. Its rigid. It must hold up to high heat as its in the firebox. I have no idea whats its called. The washer is old so there is no help from the mfg. Any of you guys out there know what it's called and where I can get it. Thank you.

Being that old, it may very well be asbestos. Seal off the area you are working in, no fans or open doors, wear a mask and old clothes, gloves, cover your head, wet it down repeatedly as you slowly peel it off. The dust is what will hurt you, not the wet stuff. Seal it in a heavy plastic bag. Now that I've scared you a little, you know to be careful. Call a few big plumbing or pipefitting/mechanical contractors to see who they use for insulating their jobs in your area and describe your situation to them.

here's an example here. Boiler Combustion Chamber Liner I've done a few relining's, but for specific Boilers. it was cheaper that way, and had the waterglass(special high temperature adhesive) included.. they worked out great, an unknown like you have will be as you see, a bit more expensive, but, will work out just fine, and easy to do..

I took a quick look and Amazon has several options that look like they would work...

I'm pretty sure that ROXULL (sp?) is fireproof and HD has it.

It was made in the late 90's I doubt it is asbestos. By the feel of it it seems like cardboard. I'm afraid if I don't use something rigid with may drop down and cover the exhaust hole. I tried the local plumbing places and they only have something 1" thick

Most boiler liners come soft and wet like a blanket. They firm up when the unit is fired.
