I have a G214 with 480 hour on it. Keep it in a heated garage and have owned it since it had 240 hours never had any problems. I've performed all the scheduled maintenance per the manual. It has always been stored in side by both owners. Here's the problem, Tuesday of this week we had a snow storm. I fired it up as usual, cleared snow for about 1.5 hours and parked back in the garage. It ran without a problem. Overnight we received more snow. The next morning as per usual I turned on the glow plug and cranked it over. It fired a couple of times but did not start. This is not unusual. Turned the key to start it again and it would not turn over. My first thought was that the battery was weak as I may have left the lights on. I checked everything out, the battery was a little low but it should still had enough power to crank the engine. I put the charger on for the day got out the manual snow blower (shovel) cleared a path went to work. When I got home later the charger indicated the battery was topped off. I tried to start the tractor, it would turn over sometimes. I tried boosting the battery by jumping it and the engine would crack slowly but not fast enough to start. I came to the conclusion that the starter may be at fault, I took it off bench had it test at a repair shop. They could find nothing really wrong but replaced the solenoid. I installed the starter tried starting. Sometimes the start will turn other times it will not. When it does turn the engine it is slow and there is a deep grinding sound. The engine will turn over but very slowly. I致e verified that the transmission is in neutral, the PTO disengaged, throttle open about シ. I have a lot of experience with gas engines and in this case would remove the plugs to determine if the engine could crank over. But with a diesel I知 not sure where to start. I致e had connecting rods break before an know the sound but when I tried to start it the next morning as I said it did fire a few times but never started. I知 at a loss of where to start or what to check. The engine acts as though there is some kind of back pressure on it. I知 very confused as it worked fine one day but did not the next. Is there something I should check with the injectors? Any suggestion would be helpful -Thanks

Have you checked the battery cables to make sure they are clean and tight? Also, Test the voltage getting to the starter. There is another thread on here that walked through the electrical testing procedures in detail.
You can pull the glow plugs to reduce compression.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will try pulling the glow plugs
I actually connected a second battery directly to the starter to by pass problems with the wiring from the battery. That helped it turn a little better but still not correctly
