I have a Bolens H1502 that has a problem with the three point lift. It lifts, but stops as soon as it sees a load. I can grab it and lift it up and it will stay where I leave it but it wont raise under even a modest load. The three point doesnt seem to leak down once raised up. I cleaned out the suction filter near the front of the container and there were a bunch of metal shavings in there. The filter seemed to keep them back but they obviously they came from somewhere.

After cleaning out the suction filter - it seemed to lift a little stronger. Is there another filter that should be cleaned out? Is the pump shot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did - it was a blown o-ring. I had to take the whole thing apart, fish out all the little bits of o-ring and then put it back together. Works like a charm now.

I just ran across a similar issue where the 3-pt would raise fine, but would not come down (more than the small amount of normal leakage past the piston which takes weeks with no linkage on it) on a tractor that has been sitting for a while. After taking a few things apart and not being able to see anything wrong, I took off the link bar from the 3-pt arm to the control lever and ran it up as far as it would go. Apparently when it "dead-headed" there was enough residual stress that when I released the control lever it would go down just a little, like maybe a 1/16" at the far end of the arms. A couple times doing this it finally freed itself up and works as it should now. Got lucky I guess...

I'm not feeling lucky on this one. Thought I found a bad oring on the big banjo bolt for the hydraulic return line, replaced it and still hardly any power to the 3 point hitch and the drive wheel are slow and noisy and after a little bit just pretty much stop working. I pulled the pump off the front left hand side of the engine and am going to try to have it looked at or just get a replacement. I hate thinking about buying a new one, putting it on and havering it do the same same, this thing is kicking my *****!
