After overhauling the slip clutches on my bat wing mower, I was unable to salvage one of the threaded tapered pins that attaches the wing driveshaft to the center gearbox. Replacements are in the neighborhood of $28. Can I get by with a standard bolt for a mowing session or two?

Hello as for your question {you can if you want to} but replacing the drive shat and or yolk will cost more than the $28 pin. If I recall the pin is tapered to only go in one way, it pulls every thing tight together. If you think a bolt will hold it tight give it a try but check it after the first or second mowing.
Best of luck.http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
