I bought a Titan bolt on thumb. Went to install today and...well it's about a 1/2" too wide for the dipper stick. I never even thought about measuring the width, just the length. I was going to get some 1/4" (or specific thickness when measured) plate for both sides of the dipper to 'sandwich' between the thumb plates and the dipper. Would this be sufficient? I also thought about drilling through the thumb plates, sandwich plate, and the dipper stick. Maybe just 2 - 1/2" grade 5 bolts through the whole assembly. I prefer not to do the drilling thing though the backhoe. What do you guys think?
