I need the metric thread for the bolt holes that hold the grille guard on the RTV 500?
Looked up Kubota parts and all they have is a part Number, nothing on the threads.

I just went out and ran the actual bolt through my Fastenal drill/tap gauge. I couldn't thread it in any of the metric. It ran in the 1/2-20 like a glove though. Hole size of 31/64 if you need that (OD of threads)

Measure it if you have a set of calipers.

Metric bolts are diameter in mm's and the pitch is the distance between threads in mm's length is also in mm's. So for example, a M8x1.25x20 would be 8mm diameter, 1.25mm between threads and 20mm long.

The threads are the most dificult to measure. Measure the distance between 10 of them and then divide by 10 to be more accurate. The common pitches for smaller bolts are 1.0, 1.25, 1.50, and 2.0.

Just curious. I have a RTV 900 and haven't run into any fasteners, etc. that weren't metric. I haven't fiddled with the brush guard, however. Has anyone run into non-metric fasteners, etc. on their RTVs?

No, I can tell you they are metric but my impact did a nice job with the 1/2-20 bolt on the one insert that wasn't quite right with my unit. From the factory one of my holes was buggered up so I found the closest bolt that would go and gave it some love with the impact. It's not the correct thread but it is really close so the thread would most likely be

12mm x 1.25mm threads just by converting the 1/2-20 to the closest metric size.

My tap and die set as well as my gauges only go up to 10mmx1.25 but when I checked the threads it did fit against the 1.25mm. Sorry if I screwed anyone up, my bolt went in the 1/2-20 die and the gauge perfectly.....but that was 4am when I was getting the bobcat ready to plow so maybe I wasn't awake yet:confused3:

Some metric dia/thread counts come real close to US standard bolt diameters. I found my Ital-ian built (very metric) tractor had a 3/4" bolt in a metric hole. Wrong! Probably contributed to a bolt failure on my loader mounts. It fit just a bit loose.

In the long run, get a thread gage. One metric one US. Not expensive. They also have plastic go/no go type units (helps most with the diameters) at nut and bolt supply shops. I think even Home Depot sells them.

Uh-Oh. It looks like we have the same tractor model (TN55), and you have me worried. But I am prone to worry.:)

Do you have the NH 32LA loader? Any idea about who was responsible (i.e., dealer, previous owner, etc.)?

Could Messick Farm Equipment have info / specs for this bolt thread?
Found and confirmed 12mm x 1.25 "extra fine thread" x 25mm, need 4?
