I have run the Alamo industrial boom rotary mowers for about 3 years. ones I run are on new Holland t5050 2wd tractors. they work ok. I have only run these, but can't think of how another manufacture could be THAT much different. we run them for highway side vegetation control with 50" "boom axe" heads/decks. the newer tractor has the updated single joystick control which is a big improvement over the 4 stick control. the hydraulics are so much smoother and faster on the joystick control as well. my only complaints with Alamo is that the deck design with direction of rotation (clockwise) of blades will leave strips in cut by how the deck rails knock the grass down and wont "vacumm" it back up on second pass. and I feel a larger then 50" cut would leave a better looking job then just the 50". if you are goiung to get a rotary deck/head, you definitely want a cab with the special glass. these things can shoot rocks/debris like a.........! a flail head wouldn't be too bad. depends on what you plan to cut. boom axe 50 rated for 6" diameter brush. not sure if this helps. good luck with your shopping.
