I saw one of them on a website, dont remember where, but search with yahoo and youll find it. It hooked to the 3pnt hitch and operated with a joy stick. But this thing was high in the air mowing tall shrubs and tree tops on a village road. Looked like it was nasty too. You could give a large shrub one hell of a hair cut by the looks of it, Larry
I don't think you'll find a boom mower for the TC series. All the boom mowers I've seen have been for higher horsepower tractors, and Cat II and Cat III hitches. There is a boom rotary mower by Rhino:
This requires a Cat II hitch and 60 HP, definitely out of the TC40 league.
Don't discount the flail mowers. The Rhino mower above has a 1" capacity, and some flail mowers carry the same ratings (depending on the type of flail/hammer) They don't require the large metal deck that rotary mowers have, so they can weigh less. This causes less torque on your 3ph.
Take a look at Micro-Mower. Their boom flail mowers are rated for TC class tractors, and although their site is skimpy on details, shows multiple uses of boom flail mowers with Orange Compact Tractors
Thanks all. The reason I asked is because I found the micro-mower website and was interested in these things. If you say the flail mower will do the job. Then I'm probably sold. Only need to find someone who sells them. Anyone have a clue what one would cost?
Thanks again
Sorry, I don't know about pricing - you would have to contact the company. Check on their mower's specs/capacity to see if they will do the work you need done.
