I have an AG brand 26 gallon spot sprayer. While buying Roundup yesterday, I priced a boom to add to my sprayer. At $175, I was wondering if I could build my own. I would need to make my own mount anyway since my sprayer rides in my Deere poly cart. 8-10 wide is all I'm looking for. JC

What are you spraying? I sprayed the edges of my driveway today with my homemade boom. I clamped a 1X4 to my ROPS and clamped my spray wand to the 1X4. All I had to do was drive down the driveway each way and the weeds were nailed. Cost me nothing. If you are trying to spray a broad area, it's a different story.

Agri-supply has a 2 nozzel addon boom with an 80" coverage that should work wll with that 26 gallon sprayer you have. I initially put my sprayer in my garden tractor's trailer, and clamped this boom to the top of the tailgate, which was just about the right height. Later I built a trailer for the sprayer. This boom is $47.95and by the time you add up all the fittings and hose, your going to pay that much, plus gas and time to round it all up and put it together...

The boom itself it generally the cheapest part there is, the nozzle holders, bodies, tips and hoses are where most of your money is spent.

If you don't want to buy one they are very easy to build. Just figure out what size you want to build and pick up the parts.

I am doing the same thing to my 25 gallon AgSpray. My brother had some 1" square tubing and angle iron left over from one of his projects so that is free. You can get some clips at TSC that are made to fit 1" square tubing that will hold your nozzles. Got the clips, nozzles, jets, hose, fittings, clamps, ball valve for about $55.00. I will have three nozzles on mine.
