Boomer 24 (Xj2025) I’ve had for about a year. As I venture further from improved surfaces I find tractor won’t climb medium grade in high range and on’t climb steep grade in low range.
Tried light, medium & full pedal, mid throttle and full throttle.
Tractor just stops forward motion as incline increases. No tire spin in grass/dirt/packed gravel. Loose gravel/mud/wet grass tires will spin.
Is 24hp too weak to climb a hill/spin tires?
Going through service manual and testing I get 100psi charge pressure, spec is 88-114.
HST relief pressure is listed at 4553psi in test section, and 3770psi in oil flow description section. Is one a typo? If 3770 is correct I have adequate pressure, if 4553 is correct my pressure is low. I replaced one of the $200+ relief valves which didn’t improve drive ability.
Ideas? Is it normal for fluid to get bubbles in it at dipstick?

Ignore if you know this, but:
When tractor starts to slow down, you lift up on the hydro pedal more instead of pressing it down like a gas pedal right?

Yep.
Internet says very light pedal pressure equals “lowest gear” maximum force but mine needs about half pedal to make maximum PSI. With no wheel rotation, light pedal pressure equals low hydraulic PSI, middle pedal equals maximum PSI and at full pedal pressure hydraulic PSI drops off.
Does a properly functioning HST very slowly churn the tires at very low pedal pressure?

I don't know the Boomer but Kubota HST units also have a clutch. Check your clutch adjustment if you have one.

I only use high range for road travel. For most jobs I run my TC40DA at 2000 RPMs in low range and vary speed with the pedal. It will spin the tires if I bury the bucket in the dirt pile. Going up hills is not an issue.

Boomer doesn’t.
Kubota GST has clutch pedal.

I have a Boomer 24. I do not have trouble with hills in low range. In high getting started can be trouble. I find I have to slowly depress the pedal to get to max speed. If I just mash the pedal down the engine boggs down.

High range is not useful for much other than traveling on a relatively flat level surface. Road travel or where I am in Indiana we are as flat as Kansass in most places.

Low should get you up and down hills without problems.

I can easily get the wheels to spin if I am say trying to push into a pile of material.
