Hi All
I have a problem with my Boomer 3050 with a can and cvt transmission. It's a first generation tractor with the early cvt transmission. It also has the 1-2-3 speed selection switch anti stall and the reactivity switch. Here's the problem
About two weeks ago it started to give the RP code on the dash when moving along I stopped checked the fluid it was about two gallons low but no leaks. It also seems to be stuck I. The high road road gear so when you go to start off it gives the RP code. Also if you are able to get it to go it continues to go even after releasing the foot petal. There are no codes being shown on the dash. I have replaced all of the filters and fluid. I've checked all of the switches the switches are all good. The loader, three point hitch all work fine. The four wheel drive works. I've also disconnected the battery and let it sit for awhile hoping it would reset it's self no luck.
I have been in touch with the local dealer and the only help they offered was to bring it in and they would fix it for me at some outragous cost I'm sure. I'm pretty handy and have a extensive shop full of tools lol so of rather not pay out the nose for something I could do myself.
Any help would be great thanks guys
Jayson

I had a new 2013 3050 Boomer for a year and traded it in due to the computer glitches that came up, and in my opinion, made the unit dangerous to use. There is way too much computer interaction on these units where the RP dash symbol pops up, the unit goes into safety mode, and puts itself into a neutral state leaving the operator clueless as to what to do. I almost backed off a 15 foot embankment into 30 feet of water due to the safety mode and immediately started contemplating getting rid of the tractor. I took a huge financial bath trading it in but am glad I did so before someone in my family was hurt or killed.
Sorry my rant will not help fix your tractor but most of the 3050 is computer controlled and there is little to nothing you can do on your own to fix the problem without software experience.
PS- For a real eye opener look up the posts on the forum by "Jackfr" and all the huge problems he has had with his Boomer 3050.

Funny you say that I'm thinking of trading it I was looking at a case ih farmall 75c or something in that size range. I know that they all are made by the same company and are pretty much the same tractor just a different company, but I haven't heard that many complaints with the red tractors compared to the blue. Any thoughts on that size or model either in blue or red.

I traded up to a T4.75 and it is worlds different from the Boomer 3050. See my posts at the address below for some information....

At the time of my original post I reported that the Boomer 3050 ran flawlessly but that was a deceiving statement. I had heard through the grape vine that my two local dealerships monitored this web site and I did not want to give them any excuse to devalue the trade in. I am sure they know of the computer glitches already with the Boomer 3050 as they repair them for a living......

How did you category 1 impliments match up to your new tractor did you have any issues

So far no problems with the Cat 1 implements on a Cat 2 tractor. In the last few years I have bought a Caroni Flail mower and Caroni Estate Finish mower and when I "cut" the PTO a shafts to fit the Boomer 3050 I made them as long as possible to work properly. Though the rear Lower arms on the T4.75 are longer the PTO shafts still have plenty of overlap in every up and down position. Slip on metal Sleeves can be bought at TSC for the Cat 1 implements to fit the Cat 2 arms etc. at just a few dollars each. I could see where a Cat. 1 PTO a shaft may have been cut short previously and not be long enough on a Cat. 2 tractor but in my case all is well.

ChiefJay--Although the last post was a few years ago, I just wanted to mention concerning your first post where you mentioned, "I've also disconnected the battery and let it sit for awhile hoping it would reset it's self no luck." I was told by a NH Service Manager that disconnecting the battery will not change the settings or programming of the tractor. I would also like to add that the electronics parasitic draw on my 3050 is 1 mA.

Hi, I don't know if you got the help you needed, but I just had your problem and came to find out from the New Holland Technician that the error code "RP" mean problem with the gas pedal.... when I found that out, I went and clean the boot underneath the gas pedal which has a lot of small rock lodged in the boots creases. I cleaned it and the problem has left me, I actually can reproduce the errors when I pull the gas on the gas pedal, indicating to me that the sensor needs a slight adjustment. I hope this help.
