I have a 2019 Boomer 55 with the mid 2000 rpm pto. Because of my poor eyesight it would be hard for me to see the pto on the underside. Is the pto shaft a 1" 16 spline like the garden tractors of the 1980's & 1990's that had rear 2000 pto? Also, is the male part protruding out of the tractor like the 540 rpm shaft on the rear? In the garden tractors I referred to the tractor actually had the female end on the tractor and the male end on the pto shaft exactly opposite of the traditional 540 pto. And lastly is there a screw on cover under there sorta like on the rear pto. I have procured a 1800 rpm 25KW alternator that I want to drive off the mid pto and I am going to have to make up a custom pto shaft to make this setup work. Thanks in advance.

These are photos of my TC 33D and I am assuming yours has the same shaft. A 1" shaft with 15 splines. Those drive shafts are common on the midmount decks, front mount snow blowers and even NH's front deck mowers.

Thank you so much. Yes, that is exactly what I'm looking for. I now see it is the standard 2000 rpm shaft that was used on the 1980's to 2000 or so garden tractors. Thats good as I already have the front half of the driveshaft that I am going to make up. I have a 25KW alternator that I want to drive off of the mid 2000 pto. It is a 1800 rpm unit so I can run my Boomer 55 at a lower engine speed to get the 1800 rpm that my generator needs to get 240V & 60 cycles than if I were using the rear 540 pto and a 3:55 gearbox that most PTO driven generators use to get 3600 rpm. One more thing, is there a cover over the shaft on the bottom or is it exposed?

Other than a rubber sleeve to protect the splines, the shaft is fully exposed as shown in the first photo.

OK, it looked like there was no kind of cover like the one on the rear. Again thank you for answering the call for help. Now I can go ahead with my plans knowing I have the right parts to make up the half of the driveshaft that connects to the pto shaft. Before this Boomer I bought a new TC34DA in 2008 and never used the mid pto and only used the rear 540 1 time as I kept the backhoe on it all the time. When I sold it last Nov. I had accumulated all of 218 hrs on it!
