Boomer Parking Brake ?

Just this past weekend I had the problem of the parking brake not releasing easily. I thought it was minor too. Thanks to reading the advice here I'll take a look under there today to possibly avoid a more serious issue - my place is not very flat at all and there's something I don't want to hit at the bottom of just about every hill.

When...IF...my dealer ever delivers mine I will check this out while he is still here. Thanks to you guys, I know what to look for. You can bet I'll check other potential problems I've read about on TBN as well.

I'm getting ready to hit 200hrs. I've noticed the last couple times that I'd have to try more than once to set the brake. This lead to having to stand on the brake with all my weight to get it to disengage.

I assumed it was because enough wear had taken place on the brakes to make all of the parking brake mechanism have to go that much further to engage. Most other types of vehicles have this same setup and have to be adjusted as fair wear and tear happens. My 88' Wrangler was a nightmare with this problem.

Mine did that, or almost that, but I could push down on the handle with the brake pedal depressed and it would release. I took the engagement mechanism apart and lubricated a pivot point up near the pedals and it has worked ever since.
