Tractor
2013 NH Boomer 40
I went to my local New Holland dealer and test drove a few tractors, two caught my eye:

  • 2015 Boomer 47 with 67 hrs, FEL, shuttle shift $25,500
  • 2015 Boomer 33 with 8 hrs, FEL, HST, $20,800

Both have never left the lot and would be sold as new with warrantee, both have ROPS and fluid filled tires. The 47 has been a demo unit, the 33 was used to clear snow from the lot this past winter.

What do y"all think of these prices?

Also stopped by the Case dealer and talked, he does not have anything small on the lot but is finding some of his previous customers to allow me to test drive. I will probably also get out to the John Deere dealer, had planned to visit him today but he recently decided to close on Saturdays.

I am a newbie and don't know much of anything about tractors, I've described my needs and situations in another post. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ng-advice.html?highlight=back+blade+snow+plow

Here are the LS tractor comparable models if you have a dealer near you.
LS has built tractors for many companies for many years. Can't help with the price as I haven't kept up with price changes since I bought my LS 3 years ago but the LS was less than the other brands.

Boomer 20 = J2020H
Boomer 25 = J2030H
Boomer 30 = R3039* w/ 28.5hp engine from older I3030
Boomer 33 = XR3032
Boomer 35 = XR3039
Boomer 37 = XR3037
Boomer 40 = R4041
Boomer 41 = XR4040
Boomer 47 = XR4046
Boomer 50 = R4047 or R4047H (hydro)

+1 on LS. When I was looking for tractors a few years ago, LS was bouncing around top of my list. Investigation at the time showed comparable NH Boomer model to be more expensive with less standard LS options. Plus NH supplied FEL had less capacity. So it is a good idea to compare with LS.

I assume both are 4WD.

For the snow that you describe in your prior post either will be fine. I live in the land of lake effect and my boomer 24 has been fine for moving snow. Despite many people saying it is a tough way to do it I just use the bucket to move snow.

I love the HST, makes driving the tractor very easy since you already know how to drive a car!

I do not have a near by LS dealer or I would have looked at them too.

The 1 series JD is comparable to my boomer 24. The price difference was stark. The NH also had better specs in terms of lift capacity on both the FEL and 3 point.

At least on the boomer 24 the bucket is not quick detach so depending on your needs that may be a deal breaker if they are not quick detach on the larger models.

Knock on wood I have not had any need to use the warranty yet so I cannot comment on NH's service there.
