Does anyone know if the service manual will be available on CD in the near future ? It would be so nice to just print out the section you need and take it to the work bench where you know it will meet mr. grease and oil. I always end up with a photo copy to work with while the clean book remains in the office. Am I the only one in this " always messy " situation?
Then maybe... and I stress maybe, they could send out updates and service bulletins pertaining to your subscription requirements. Could save a couple trees along the way.

I guess a copy machine would be handy to have around the shop. Are you aware that there is a Parts CD? The illustrated parts diagrams in those are very good. Here is a link to a thread from 2003 when the parts CD became available.

Joe we use a small laminating machine to print and seal the pages needed most. Like lube charts and the like. We then hang them from a nail in the pole barn and oil and grease can't touch them.

Parts CD would be nice but a service manual on CD would be better. Maybe it would explain some of the great engineering ventures New Holland participated in ie... the cable and weight attached to the thermostat ( that got tangeled up and held the thermostat open ) or the one half inch line between the cross flow radiator and the block that transfered coolant so nice the engine never heated up. Best of all was the repair campaign... $50.00 worth of valves that were closed off and did exactly nothing. Wonder if this guy still works in the engineering department? Can't wait to find and repair more of these brainstorms.

Joe let's not forget to give NH credit for all the batteries that spewed sulfuric acid and the fan that would then pick it up and spray it on all parts of the engine to remove the paint and etch the metal. Now there was a true piece of engineering IMHO. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

...and non-returning hydrostatic pedals.
...and using tack-welded parts for production.
...and remote valves that collect water.
...and tilt-steering cylinders that freeze.

They are still sweet tractors though, aren't they Jim? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's not just NH though. I saw many posts about Kubota's and non returning hydro pedals. I don't follow the other color forums too much anymore, but they have there issues too.

I think what you really want is also the Service Bulletins and Updates. I used to get them for my my 2120 and they were very useful.

Thanks for the reminder Jinman..... I just scratched the surface of their wonderful ideas. They should check back in 10 years. If you fixed all the problems yourself they could award you with a Master Technican patch, maybe pay you to be on call for a questions and problems forum. Ya know what is sad, my $2000.00 D-15 does everything the TC does and will be around in running condition long after the NH series is heaped in a pile. Take extra good care of the sheet plastic so one day you can hang it on the wall. I know my fogged up instrument panel will have a special place. I'm afraid to price a replacement so it has a few years to go.
