Boomer use or lack of use

I should change my username to NOSNOW. About one month ago the backblade was parked & the brand new Loftness 3pt snowblower was attached. Since then we have received no more than flurries to 3 inch "dump". My question is, except for the battery slowly discharging how long do I dare just let the TC25D sit before lack of use causes any problems? Oil & filter were changed a couple days before playing around with the snowblower(skimming off a whopping couple inches of old snow, skids set at max ht) ?

My past experience has been....if I mount my snowthrower ahead of time it never snows! So, I always wait...if.... I want snow. I waited this year...snowed 7" christmas eve. You need to take your snowthrower off to guarantee snow./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I see these machines setting months (in a variety of weather) at a time outdoors at dealers. Can't really see any issues.

Mine stays in the garage, but unless it snows, it pretty much sets idle. I do keep the fuel tank full (minimize condensation in the fuel tank), and exercise the clutch once or twice a week. Wouldn't worry too much about your 25D, but you can always operate it once or twice a month if it makes you feel better. Of course, how often do you start your lawn mower in the winter...?

Make sure you do something with the clutch pedal.My Dad's NAA would sit outside borrowed in snow every year for 40 years with nothing to seperate the clutch from the fly wheel.That 41 year got us.What a time we had.We finally sprayed some WD40 on to the fly wheel.That did it.From than on we put a rock on the pedal.Never heard of this until it happened to us and than the people we talked to said they had it happened to them.Just make sure every is up to speed when you park it you should be fine.

Hmmm, this sounds very familiar. A couple winters ago we were hit with over 2.5 ft of snow in 2 weeks and just could not keep up with the snow and the drifting with the back blade and bucket. Bought the 72" Loftness blower and it snowed less then 3 inches the rest of the winter. Did get to use it a little last year and am still waiting for a decent snow this year.

I would rather not have the snow, would find something else to do with the tractor, haul wood etc.

Ditto to what Roy said. The dealer that I bought my TC21 from left it sit outside, and it was even covered with snow. Dog gone if it didn't start right up, and operate great in 20 degree weather. My TC21 sits in the shed, and is full of fuel. No Problems so far. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mine usually sits for a month at a time in the winter between uses, since it doesn't snow much here and it rains a lot, so to go anywhere with it would leave ruts everywhere. It's always started right up.
