Bought a Ford 1710

Just bought a 1710 today for 3k. I think I got a good deal, what ya think?

1600 hours
4 wheel drive, tires fair, fronts a little cracked
Front end loader
50 inch tiller....he said a tad small
box blade
angle blade
Uses 1 qt of oil in about 125 to 150 hours and the rear hyd needs a little adjusting he said.

The ol tractor ain't perfect but sounds like she is gonna be ok. I just needed one for light puttering around the place. He has had it the last 15 years and is gonna sell off stuff to move into town. Nice old man.

Sounds like a great deal to me. That's much cheaper than I got my 1510 last year and I still had to buy a box blade. Can't wait to see pictures.

great price. I paid abut the same for 1700 in great shape with much less to boot than 1710. If in good shape then it is a great deal.

hmm.. that's a lil suspect. I think I'd want an oil change yearly or every 100 hours whichever came first.. .. thus not letting it get to 125-150 hours...

Well I got the tractor home the other night. It was in the 20* range and a bit breezy but the tractor fired right up......even after sittin for several weeks.
I finally had some time to putter around and play a bit. The guy that drove it onto the trailer said the back tire started to spin and he pulled on the 4 wheel drive lever and said it then just walked right up on to the trailer. I moved a couple of buckets of dirt and seemed ok to me. Ill post a picture when I figure out how to do that (may have to have my son help me.....).

Soundguy, Im thinkin Ill change oil and monitor the use to see if it really uses any oil. The tractor has only about 40 to 50 hours the last several years. Doesn't seem to smoke any from what I can tell.

Now I WANT snowwwwww :laughing:!

Looks like you got a pretty good deal especially with all the implements to boot.

hmm 40-50 hrs per year and the owner says it uses a quart in 100-120 hours. sounds like he only changes the oil ever 2-3 ys. I don't doubt it might be low in 3ys

I change em every year hours up or not.. Minimum. it's cheap insurance and easier than rebuilding a engine....
