Put this same post in the General forum....
Since I had a few posts asking advice I thought I would give follow up on my decision and why.
I purchased a new 2010 New Holland Boomer 35 with 240 FEL, Woods 5' Box Blade, NH 5' Cutter/bush hog, and NH chain drive 5' tiller. Participated in the New Holland Loader program to save an additional 3K on purchase price.
FEL and bucket are quick detach and a 2 additional rear hydraulic remotes can be added if I like. My next purchase will probably be a PTO powered sprayer with boom.
With the NH loader program you can pay down as much as you want with as little as 1 dollar remaining on your tab, and there is no penalty for early pay off.
I like diesel engines and riding around on this thing is a hoot.. Spent 2 hours cutting overgrown fields yesterday and messing around with the FEL. I am glad I did not get a smaller tractor. In fact for what I plan to do I think this tractor is just the right size. I found it comfortable at the helm and pretty intuitive to use. Pushed over a couple of small trees with the FEL yesterday as well.
I did compare it to John Deere 38 to 40 hp tractors and Kubota L3800. I liked those tractors as well but with my local dealer's reputation in the community for service after the sale and my experience with him during my purchase cinched it for me to go with New Holland. They are only 5 miles down the road.
My dealer is Surry Equipment in Surry, VA and I've had a very positive experience thus far. Some local farmers I know speak highly of them as well.
Since this is a new tractor supplier and model for New Holland I will try to give an unbiased follow up if there are any significant problems with the tractor. Obviously I'm pretty happy with it right now.
