/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifAfter doing much research on the DK45 and 1590 loader, I decided to trade my 3054 w/loader/backhoe in. After negotiating what I thought was a competitve price between 2 dealers, for DK45 w/1590 loader I reallized that even though I was talking 1590, the dealer sold me a 1470. I didn't even notice. Upon calling the dealer, he said I never mentioned the 1590, and that he never sells a DK45 w/1590 because of several problems that loader has with auto level feature. He said said he will order a 1590 in for $500. plus maybee $300. for shipping if he cant get it with another of his shipments. I am a very heavy user of the loader, and allways pushing it to the edge.
Question: Should I bother to change to the 1590, or am I making a big deal out of a very little differance.

Don't know anything about the 1590 but,I have a 1470 on my DK40.
I will tell you this about the 1470,I could probably be a poster boy for fel abuse,I have really used it hard for over 200 hours now and it has taken everything that I've given it.
Everytime I use(abuse) it Iam amazed that it is so rugged and well designed.I just finished busting out my concrete driveway with it and it performed extremely well.I know that someone complained that the bucket didn't curl far enough but, if so it has never been a problem for me.......hope I've helped,Mike.

I had problems with my 1595 self levleing loader. It maybe a blessing in disguise that did not get the self leveler. Definetly no roll back angle or break out power on curl.

The 1590 is a very good loader, and does not have the problems like the KL1595 with rollback. The 1590 is the only loader we put on the DK45 tractors. They did have a problem with the self leveling not staying completely level, but they have since fixed this over a year ago. The old ones didn't have a valve mounted on the front of the loader where the steel hyd lines go. All new ones have these valve, seems to fix the entire problem.

Thanks, for the posts guys. Tried lifting 2000 pounds of lumber today, this machine would not budge at all. went back to the dealer who sugests I go with a DK55 and 1595 loader. He says this will cost me about $3000. more. I paid $21,100 for the DK45 and 1470 loader w/quick attach + forks. so now I would be at $24,100. IS THIS A FAIR DEAL, AND WILL THE DK55/1595 BE THAT MUCH MORE TRACTOR?

Have you seen the DK55?
Yes it is much more tractor.
I had a DK55 on my lot a customer wanted to see how much it would lift so we took and stacked 2 LB1914 in crates and it did not even grunt and up they went (about 4,000lbs.)

Lift at the pins to full height:

1470 - 2100lbs
1590 - 2500lbs
1595 - 2685lbs
1730 - 3500lbs

24" out from the pin, ie at the centre of a stack of lumber those numbers go down. To make up for it you aren't lifting to full height so you are in the stronger part of the loaders range.

i've got a new DK55c with the 1595 loader.. no problems whatsoever. as someone pointed out, i believe that the newer loaders have been improved to resolve some of the problems people were having.

Sorry but there is no way on this green earth that a DK 55 with any kind of loader is going to. lift 4,000lbs . I use mine every day and we lift big stuff . It will safely move a 1/2 pallet of wall stone but not even close to a full pallet . We also do a lot of retaining walls with 4,000 lb. blocks and it just is not even a glimmer in the eye of a DK 55.

Yes fair price. Rule of thumb is pay list for tractor get a free loader. Just the way it works.
Oh I got tired of fishing around with loaders and put Woods 1016 on the 45's with very good results. Also the Woods "bolt right up" and always come with the correct plumbing.

But tomorrow I will tell how much wind a kioti will handle. Charlie is a comin.
