Bought my L3240 HST-3 with LA724 FEL today

After driving my Ford 1700 for 29 years I bought a new 3240 today with the HST transmission. Used it a little this afternoon and really like it. The only thing is a loud whine when in high. Hope that calms down some otherwise it performs good for what I use it for.

Congratulations on your new tractor. The HST is wonderful although noisy. I suggest some earplugs at first, it seems to diminish somewhat with time, but it's still noisy. There are a lot of threads on this site about the whine and things that can reduce it. You can search them and check to see if some of them may help. It's a good looking rig.

Nice machine. You're going to get lots of good service from that one. The larger loader option was a real deal closer for me. I see the box blade on the back, what sort of work will you be doing with it?

Very nice,I think you will find the only use for High range is on the road.Remember less pedal more power.

What a beautiful machine:thumbsup:.. yes remember HI is for road gear only. and then only if it is mostly flat. Whenever the hydro is screaming at you, it is time to shift to a lower range, or check to see if the parking brake is on BTDT
