Your tires or at least the tires in the pictures are R4 industrial tires, not R1 ags

You're right (good eye) I just went out and took a closer look. Are they just as good in snow and dirt/mud as AG?? Thanks.

That question has been asked and answered about 1000 times on here. The consensus of opinions seem to be that the R4's do well in snow, unless it is ice, but then the R1's aren't great on ice either. The R4's don't do as well in mud, again this is just what I have read, but do much better if you want to use the tires on your lawn. For lots of loader work the R4's seem to be the favorite. The R1's seem to be more suitable for agricultural use, I have yet to see a farmer around here with R4's on their tractors. I believe with the Kiotis the R4's are 8 ply and the R1's are 6 ply. I have the R1's on my 45 because I use it for plowing, cultivating, harrowing, and discing in the spring.

In the winter the tractor will be used (mainly) for clearing our lane way. It's nearly a mile long and rises slowly through the property so some areas can get a little icy. We don't farm the land ourselves (other then a garden and a 100 or so trees we planted) but will start experimenting with some small plantings someday. I'm assuming that the industrial tire is designed for conditions around a construction site which can be very slippery. I did ask a similar question to this one a few months ago but it was ag vs. turf. Thanks.

If you don't mind me asking - what was your cost for tractor and FEL? Also, was it difficult for your dealer to get one, or are these generally available now?

The DK45SE is generally available,as you put it. Should be very well priced vs competition, just like your DK40 quote was.

Sorry for the slow response I've been away. The tractor with FEL was around 25 canadian and it seemed pretty easy to get.

Nice setup and view. What dealer did you buy from?

I like the looks of the pipe grill guard. Nice looking rig. Hope your rear tire doesn't go flat, looks like fluid leaking out of it.
