Well I've committed to purchasing the used Woods BH70X, PTO driven, mounted on a Woods subframe. Whew!! I won't be picking it up till Monday but I did take the manuals and the front mounting bracket home with me. Here's my question to you learned folks who've mounted these things before. The bracket I got with the frame looks like it doesn't bolt to the frame of the tractor like the manual shows. This is a u-shaped piece that matches up to the inside mid-mower mounting bracket on the FEL mount. Has to holes in it, a big one that is the exact size of the top big one in the mower mount and a smaller 1/2" size one that also matches the bottom hole in the mower bracket. Seem correct? It appears like you can use a big pin in the top hole like you would on the mower and use a 1/2" bolt on the hole below that. I'm thinking this front mount thing really doesn't do much except keep the BH level and help keep it on the lift arm pivot arms. I don't think it really has any structural purpose as the frame is attached to it with a 1/2" only bent pin. I am correct in this?
