We just got this mower about a month ago and as I was looking at a 3-ring binder, the owner furnished with our purchase, I discovered an Operators Manual which reads: Operators Manual, Transmatic Lawn Tractors, Model Series 660 thru 679and also an Illustrated Parts Book for Model Numbers 660 thru 679. The original owner has hand written 6-6-01 on the front page of the manual.
He also included an Operating & Maintenance Instructions Manual from Briggs & Stratton with the following Model Series covered: 28N700, 287700, 28P700, 28Q700,
28S700, 28U700, 310700,311700, 312700, 313700. Our tractor has the 14.5 H.P. OHV engine. WE love it!
I'm new to this sight, but having grown up on a small farm in the 50's, in the so called "Little Switzerland of Iowa", in the far northeast county, along the Mississippi River, I've always been attracted to small tractors. I can remember as a kid, still putting up loose hay with our team of horses. We farmed on halves on this 40 tillable acre farm, with my Ma's parents. Just before the team left Pa bought a 49 Ford N, I think it was called, and then a narrow front wheeled B-Farmall with the off-set wheel. We got along just fine.
If the information above can help anyone, let me know. Just send me an email and I'll send back a telephone number or you send me one, and I'll call you, and for the cost of printing & mailing, I'll help if possible.
Best wishes and God Bless!
