OK,

I just got my new box blade (First Choice) it is very nice. Works great but I'm having a small problem. When I turn relatively sharply the lower 3PT arms hit the tires. Has anybody had this problem before? I'm sure it's somewhat simple to fix I'm just not sure how. All my other attachments don't have this problem. I know that many of you TBN'ers out there use your box blade for rear ballast (seems like a good idea) but I can't do this if it is going to sway into the tires when turning. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Sounds like you need to tighten/shorten the check chains on the 3 pt hitch (on the Kubota, you need to screw them)

Snowman,

Thanks for the info. I thought perhaps that might be the case but I didn't want to mess with the check chains without checking here first to see if that might be the correct solution.

Some folks may do it differently, but like Snowman, after hooking up my box blade, I adjusted the check chains (or bars) so that I had an absolute minimum of sway to either side.

OK, who is this really? And how did you get access to TD's account?? /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

Seriously, congrats on taking delivery of your new box blade. Was I right about it being heavy duty enough for you? /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

When do we get to see a picture of your newest addition?

Of course this must mean that you must have gotten your new First Choice 3pt finish mower also. If you can pry yourself away long enough you have to send pictures. After all we do have to measure your smile.

Gary,

Yep its me in the flesh and scooting around on my tractor with a fancy JD green box blade. Heavy duty it is. I got the -20 instead of the -30 and I'm glad I did. The -20 is plenty heavy enough for my little 855 and As I told Kodiak it works great. I'm going to get a ton of use out of that thing even though my driveway is now paved.

In fact I'm having so much fun moving dirt and rocks around and mowing everything green that I've been too lazy to get the camera and take pictures.

In order to ensure that I'm not choosing sides I got an orange mower. OK I really only got the orange one because I was tired of waiting and they were out of stock on the green ones. I tested the mower to a great extent on Sunday and will tell you that one should be careful not to set the height too low. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Next I think I'll get the aerator so I can make all that grass I'm going to plant and mow look good.
