I am a new poster here. Great forum. I am looking at buying a First Choice brand box blade. Is this a high quality brand implement? I own a John Deere 2020. It is only 2 wheel drive but a 54 horse diesel. Will I have any problem pulling a 6 foot box blade once loaded with dirt? Should I consider the 5' model for this reason? Also will rear wheel weights help or hinder the drag?

Welcome to the forum countonjoe, I pull a six foot first choice BB-30 boxblade with my 35 horse and it pulls it fine full of dirt. I would say you could move up to a seven footer if you wanted and it will pull fine behind your 54 horses.

The only problem you will find the First Choice box blades are not in production and have not been in production for over 2 years. Midwest Fabrication made them then and still is in business and now makes the Kioti box blades and markets their own line as well.

I have a 72" Series 2 BB made by Midwest. It is very robust. I think the Midwest BB is as good as Woods but at a more modest price. Check for yourself... Midwest

I have the Kioti (Midwest) BB 48" and it's really tough. I see no reason you couldn't pull a full box on a 6' or even 7' with that much tractor power. Midwest is a great product and costs much less than many other brands. As you now know, they made the First Choice BB. John
