I am looking to get a quality box scraper for my B3030. This is for two main reasons one is I have so ground leveling work to do and also to act as a counter balance when doing so loader work. Any buddy have any ideas other than the Kubota L7551?
Some background: I live on 90 acreas of land 60 of which is wooded the other is a mix of pasture and lawn. I have a 800' drive way with a large parking area (all blacktop) . The B3030 was bought for doing some flail mowing,Lawn mowing and general ground maint.

Thanks in Advance

I happen to have a 4' LandMaster on my BX...don't know that one Box Blade has an advantage over another. I guess I'd like to have more than the 3 scarifiers...and I guess I'd like the option to extend them down more than 2", but as far as being good "ballast", it fits the bill.

A Box Blade (or Landscaping Box) is actually pretty tricky. I ripped all the landscaping out of my parents front yard over the weekend, then smoothed the whole area over with the box. After a few minutes and several passes, things started looking good. Definitely not a "couple of passes" sort of device...scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact, scrape, compact...THEN it looks pretty good. Of course I'm a perfectionist engineer type.

FYI, you mentioned the asphalt parking area...don't know if you want to use the Box Blade on that for any particular reason...it would probably tear up your blacktop pretty good.

If you don't mond spening the money, I would go with one of the big names (Woods, Landpride, etc). They will give you a good product that is heavy. If you want to save some cash, you can go with United or King Kutter. I have also heard good things about these less expensive units.

I was, of course, assuming the "lesser" units weren't made of thin steel prone to bending...how could you mess up a box blade, cheap vs. expensive? They're about as dumb as they come, I figured....tough to mess up beyond a crappy paint job or whimpy scarifiers...

I am with Kieth, I would not want to use my BB on my driveway. I could do some damage. The only option I wish I had (which I am going to make) is clevis pin hook-ups for the draft arms. I have an XB BB and bent the one pin a little outward. Not to bad, but I notice it. Given, I was trying to push a LARGE rock with my BX1500 and it caught the one side. Clevis stile pins are stronger. Besides that, you really need to work at breaking a box blade.

We use a 5' Bush-Hog brand SBX-600 with 5 scarifiers with ours and it works well and is very well build. The weight on also is 500#.

Thanks for all the advise. I was not planning on using the box blade on the driveway. I have a fair amount of ground leveling and general maintenance do do around the property. I thinbk I will stick with Bush Hog brand since I have had such good luck in the past with their rotary cutters

Thanks Again
