I have a LPGS( Land Pride, Land Plane Grading Scraper) and a ROBB(Bush Hog, Roll Over Box Blade). Each one does specific jobs pretty well. The LPGS will level out my driveway. I do have to use the scarifiers, also, when working on the driveway. It will not transport material, it will not move material horizontally, it will not create a crown on the driveway. The ROBB will transport material, it can move material horizontally and can crown the driveway.
Actually, with a whole lot of practice and a hydraulic top link - my favorite implement is my Rhino rear blade. It's a Rhino 950 - 8' wide - 1010#. It will do all of the above, plus - plow snow and maintain the driveway ditches.
If you are looking at land leveling/smoothing then I would recommend the LPGS. It's the next best thing to "Plug 'n Play". Just hook it up and drag it....
If you will be working on a hard surface - like my driveway, in the summer - get a LPGS with scarifiers. The scarifiers loosen the surface and the following blades will smooth it out.
Remember - weight is your friend. A light weight LPGS will just drag behind the tractor and create sparks. It takes real weight to make a land engagement implement work right.
