Boxblade (How Big?)

I have a 75JX series Maxxima ,75 gross hp.with 4wd.I was wanting to purchase a box blade for this tractor.Can anybody give me a ideal on the width of this implement that this tractor could handle.I also need a 3pt blade.(need help on width also).

You would be fine running an 8' box behind it. An 8' box is a big box and you might find it a bit clumsy. You can run bigger if you can find a bigger box but to be honest I think the 8' box would suit you just fine for what they are designed for. What are your plans for the box blade? If you have a lot of dirt to move you might just want to get a small pan. I run a 7' box behind my TN65 and have no trouble and I know you will not have any trouble with an 8' box. So I guess, what size is going to depend on what your use is. Same holds true for the blade, you can go quite large with it but it becomes a problem if it is too big for your application.

I was leaning toward a 7 foot box blade for moving dirt around my pond.I want to cut a small hill also.I will also use it as ballast for loader.I have access to a six foot pan scraper,do not know the yards.(guessing2-1/2to 3 yards).The 3pt blade will be used mostly for snow.I have a 1/2 mile lane.I thought maybe a 8 footer for this.Just trying to get a ideal so I don't go to big.

You can easily handle an 8 footer. Sometimes cumbersome in tight spots. Since you are using for ballast, I recommend getting as heavy as you can to fit your tractor. This helps the box cut into the soil instead of "sliding or skipping". Just beware of stumps and rocks. Look at http://www.monroetufline.com/

Look at the Woods line of commercial box blades and rear blades. They are designed for higher HP applications. I use an 84" box behind a 60HP tractor. I destroyed a few "cheaper" boxes before going with the Woods. I also bought a Woods 7' blade. They are better built, better designed, and easy to buy replacement parts for, should you need them. A 75 HP tractor will gut a cheap piece of equipment in short order, /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I really wanted a woods boxblade.I got a quote on a 84" heavyduty high back.Quote was 2150.Scared the --- out of me.I did like the specs. and the weight of it.Don't have that kind of cash right now.My wife wants a new deck.New tractor,new deck.You know how the story goes!!! Is there any heavyduty box blades cheap?

The Woods medium duty is rated to 70HP and weighs in at 628# in 6' and 739# in 7'. You should be able to get one for under $1000. End plates are 3/8" thick.

Woods HB 72 or 84

Frontier BB1172 or 1184

Floating tailgates should let it dig better.

This is where I buy all my woods stuff (all 1 of them) but are the cheapest around. I can drive there but they will probably ship from factory to you door
