Hi all,
I am a Canadian that is quite disillusioned with the dealers and ther use of the US exchange rate. I am looking for a box blade for my 20HP 2000lb (with loader) 4WD Yanmar. I am considering a number of models (FarmKing/Buhler, BushHog, Kioti/Midwest BB20 series) (all with double support for the pins). Does anyone know of a dealer in Northeast New York (within 50 miles of Ogdensburg). I would like something in the neighbourhood of $450USD.

Cheers,
Rob

Buhler/Farm King is a Canadian company, I suspect you could find one there locally?

My local Buhler/Farm King dealer (I'm in Indiana a LONG way away from you) sells Buhlers for about $475 (US$) for the 48" box, locally a Midwest BB20-48 can be gotten for about $50 to $60 less.

I'm not sure if the dealers are playing any funny games with the exchange rates, but given the added cost of transportation, I wonder if you'd be able to get the Buhler locally for the price of a Midwest without having to cross the border to get it?

I agree, one would think that a Canadian should be able to purchase the Buhler for cheaper here, but it isn't the case. Here (in Ottawa), the Buhler sells for $765CDN-->$630USD, the Woods 48 sells for $875CDN-->$717USD, in fact the TSC store sells their 60" for $700CDN-->$573USD (but sells at the US TSC for $393USD).

Unbelievable

The only New York dealer listed on Midwest's website is:
Zephyr Knoll Farms - Dundee, NY 607/243-7320
John
EDIT: I've just checked the mileage from Ogdensburg to Dundee and it's about 201 miles. J

KiotiJohn,
What is Midwest's website? I couldn't seem to find it on the internet? I have contacted the Kioti dealer in Ogdensburg, but have not received the response. If I don't get a reasonable price from him, it looks like I'll be driving to Syracuse (130 miles from Ogdensburg)to the Buhler dealer.

thanks,
Rob

Snell Equipment in Potsdam, NY is a Kubota dealer. They handle the Bush Hog brand as well. I used to pass by their place regularly and they always had plenty of equipment on their lot, but I never stopped in. Their waaay closer to Ogdensburg than Syracuse is. I'd give 'em a call.

You need to put your link in without all the extra periods so that it works. Is this the link you're trying to show?
