I get what you are saying but I was just saying if he wants a gooseneck this would likely be his cheapest route. Goosenecks cost more than bumper pull to begin with. If he goes to a dealer they will give him wholesale trade in on his trailer and sell him a gooseneck at full retail. He would be lucky to find a trade for twice that $1500. He could sell his trailer privately and then buy a gooseneck but that is always a hassle and then he has to pay full sales tax on the new trailer. Bottom line is getting rid of his trailer and buying a gooseneck would almost certainly cost him a lot more than the $1500 to convert. I agree the axle geometry would likely be better on a factory made gooseneck but then again adding a gooseneck to an existing trailer will make the hitch farther forward then it was originally.
