I have my side walls and end walls braced with 6x6's...........Stopped most of the movement.........now I need to run braces from the trusses down to the posts..........
Question..........................gonna go on a 45 degree angle of course, with a 2x6 that will be bolted into the bottom chord of the truss and one of the diaganals of the truss. The question is what to do with the other end.........Typically they line up with the face of the post. If I put a scab on the side of the truss under the 2x6 I can bolt into the side of the post. Is this better or is it adequate to set the end of the 2x6 on the face of the post and counterbore into the 2x6 and attach the end to the post that way..................hope this isnt tooooo confusing but I do need YOUR advice..........Dennis
