Brake and clutch pedal pads come off

I have a Kubota L3400. From the first time I used it, I have had a problem with the rubber clutch and brake pads coming off. They appear to be made of soft rubber, almost like foam rubber. Since the pedals are smooth, they have to have some kind of pad. Does anyone know if there is a hard rubber pad, perhaps from some other tractor, which will fit?

I have had that problem with both tractors and with the older model cars years ago. Instead of changing the pads, I just learned to change the way I put my feet on them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Take the pedal covers off and clean both the metal and the inside of the pedal covers well. Then using some contact cement, coat both surfaces. Allow to dry and then reinstall the pedal covers. They will never come off again in one piece. Just make sure that you put them on correctly the first time after applying the contact cement..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would try some 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive rather than contact cement. Junkman is right, with contact cement they are there to stay forever. With the 3M you could get them off later if you need to replace them.

Auto parts stores usually have the 3M, it is made for auto, not household use.
